Billy ClarkMr. William N. “Billy” Clark, age 86, of Lyons, Georgia died Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital under the care of Community Hospice.

Billy was a lifelong resident of Lyons, Georgia. He was a 1955 graduate of Lyons High School, attended Georgia Southern College, the University of Georgia, and then earned his Pharmacy Degree from Mercer College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia in 1962.

He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Oliver, in 1960. They lived in Atlanta, where he worked as a Pharmacist before moving to Dublin, Georgia to work at Oatts Drug Store. In 1964 they returned home, and he purchased Ideal Pharmacy in downtown Lyons. After owning and operating Ideal Pharmacy for a number of years, he became the owner of his father’s business, Vidalia Monument Company. In 2000, he and his son-in-law partnered together to found Clark and Shaw Monument Company, where he worked until he retired.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, fishing, spending time at Lake Oconee, and being “Papa” to his granddaughters.

He was a member of the Lyons First United Methodist Church and the John Durst Sunday School class. In the past, he was a member of the Lyons Jaycees Club and the Vidalia Rotary Club. He was a member of the founding Board of Directors of Robert Toombs Christian Academy.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ann Oliver Clark; daughter, Karen Leigh Clark; parents, Sid and Marie Clark; and sister, Carole Clark Mason.

His family includes two children, Elizabeth Clark Shaw and husband Chuck of Lyons, and William Clark, Jr. of Lake Oconee; three grandchildren, Anna Shaw Willyard and husband Connor of the Long Pond Community, Lauren Shaw Hadden and husband Tyler of Lyons, and Emily Shaw Lora and husband Carlos of Vidalia; and one great-granddaughter, Aubree Kate Hadden. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Joker.

The family will receive friends at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 23rd from 6:00 until 8:00.

The funeral service will be Saturday morning, February 24th at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Trent Akins and Pastor Ramon Hernandez officiating.  Burial will follow at Lyons City Cemetery.
