Clara Faye Harrison LewisMrs. Clara Faye Harrison Lewis, age 83, of Vidalia, died peacefully at her residence with her family by her side on Thursday, April 11, 2024, under the care of Community Hospice.  She was a native of Toombs County and a 1959 graduate of Toombs Central School.  She worked at Brunswick Manufacturing, and then moved to Nashville in 1970 with her husband, Homer, while he was in mortuary school. In Nashville, she worked for Massey Seating. She would later go on to work in the carpet industry in Dalton, Georgia and then at Toombs County Manufacturing for over twenty years as plant supervisor until the facility closed.  Clara Faye attended Southeastern Technical College and earned a degree in medical transcription and computer information technology. Her career path then took her to Lady Renee Industries where she utilized her computer information skills. She would later volunteer as an auxilian with the Pink Ladies at Meadows Hospital in Vidalia for many years.  She was a member of St. Matthews Church of God and served as church custodian and Young Adults Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, reading her Bible with her husband, cooking, fishing, spending time at church with family and friends, and she especially loved time spent with her grandbabies. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Homer B. Lewis, Jr.; parents, Willis Harrison and Mattie Kate Ganey Harrison; two sisters, Glenda Carol Harrison and Phyllis Harrison Toole; and granddaughter, Lindsey Brooke Knight.

Her family includes two children, Blake Harrison Lewis and wife Ginger of Waycross and Jennifer Lewis Knight and Jimmy Cowart of Toombs County; one stepson, Robbie Lewis of Conway, South Carolina; one brother, Wayne Harrison and wife Audrey of Dudley; one sister, Wilma Lee Harrell of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Cayla Knight Achenbach and husband Cody of Mims, Florida, Carra Allyssa Zambetti and husband Michael of St. Simons Island, Evan Lewis and Easton Lewis, both of Waycross; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Achenbach, John Luke Achenbach, Gemma Zambetti, Roman Zambetti, and another great-grandchild to be born soon; caregiver and friend, Tosha Rhymes; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at St. Matthews Church of God on Saturday afternoon, April 13th, from 2:00 until just prior to the funeral service at 3:00 with Pastor Steven Toole and Pastor Harry Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
