Ms. Rita Marie McCoy, age 56, of Vidalia, died Tuesday morning, March 5, 2024, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, after an extended illness under the care of Community Hospice. She was a native of Emanuel County living most of her life in Vidalia. She graduated from Vidalia High School in 1985 and was a homemaker.  Rita was of the Baptist faith and in her spare time she enjoyed reading, playing yatzee and cards. She especially loved family game night and spending time with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Darrell McCoy and Martha Helen Daniels McCoy; sister, Judy Dale McCoy; and a brother-in-law, Jamie Stephens.

Her family includes her daughter, Crystal McCoy; two brothers, Richard Darrell McCoy and wife Lesley and Terry Lee McCoy; one sister, Tammy McCoy Stephens, all of Vidalia; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, March 7th at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00.

The funeral service will be held Friday morning, March 8th at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Boatright officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery near Soperton.
